The Wild Horses of Alberta

The first wild horses in Alberta came with Columbus. Most of the horses escaped from the conquistadors, and others were stolen and taken into battle. The ones that did escape got caught by the Blackfoot Indians, and the horses became apart of daily life. As the Blackfoot lived in what is now Alberta, the horses escaped and that how the wild horses became apart of Alberta.

Nowadays however, wild horses -instead of being treated with respect- are being treated unkindly. Thousands roamed free, now less than three hundred remain. The reason- no matter how rude- must be told. Most wild horses are being caught for live slaughter, for meat and sadly for sport. That is why I urge you to help save the wild horses of Alberta.

My signature soap

My signature soap in called Alberta Foothill's Free Filly in the Fog. It is dedicated to the wild horses of Alberta.

Ingredients:
fragrance oil: Maja Type
powder coloring: Beet Root
soap base: Extra Bubbles

I made this soap hoping that buyers think of it as a wild, excited and happy type of soap.

Why Epona Soaps

Epona is the Celtic goddess of horses, wild or tame. She protected them from harm in many ways. I started creating and selling soaps this spring and so far I've raised over $200 which has been sent to charities that help horses. This week I decided to focus my fundraising on one charity. The International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH) is "working for a world where the horse is used, never abused". I have adopted a horse named Bowman through ILPH, and all profits from Epona Soaps will go to feed, care and rehabilitate him, cause all he needs is some TLC!
